Position:
Technical Developer
Job Description:
Candidate will be responsible for technical production/development on new projects and technical maintenance on existing contracts.
Production duties include:
1. Implementation of existing integration, database and content management tools for projects;
2. Following Technical Requirements documentation to build code for projects;
3. Build-out of classes that are framed out and documented for use in production;
Maintenance duties include:
1. Responding to client support issues with technical issues on their site / intranet / extranet / etc;
2. Coding technical upgrades for existing sites;
3. Debugging and correcting problems that may include Email, Database, XML, Data Import / Export, Payment Processing, etc;
Required Technical Skills:
HTML
HTML (XHTML) must be second nature.
Web Languages
Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: ASP, ASP.NET, PHP. Experience in other similar languages also beneficial.
Object Oriented Design & Programming
Must be able to scope out classes and implement and extend pre-made classes in logical fashion to accomplish goals.
Database Design & Connectivity
ODBC, OLEDB, MSSQL, MySQL, Access, etc.
Required Non-Tech Skills
- Ability to communicate technology / programming concepts to non-technical people;
- Goal-oriented, team player;
- Dedication to a professional level of documentation;
The following skill and experience are a plus, but not required:
- Experience with web servers and technologies: Apache, IIS, etc;
- CVS administration & use in a production environment;
- Experience with online business application development;
- Knowledge of hardware & networking;
- Bachelors degree in computer science or computer engineering;
