Red Clay Interactive takes community involvement and volunteer efforts seriously. That's why when the John Jarrard Foundation contacted us about creating a website to promote their cause and fund-raising concert, we jumped at the chance to donate our time and talents.
The foundation is in memory of John Jarrard, a Gainesville native who became a country songwriter in Nashville. Within a year moving to Tennessee, he began to experience sight failure due to diabetes. Soon, Jarrard's sight was completely lost, but his dreams were as clear as ever. A short time later, country star Don Williams took Jarrard's song, "Nobody But You," to number one on the charts. Soon the likes of Alabama and George Strait had crooned Jarrard penned tunes. All told, he scored eleven number one hit songs.
In 2001, Jarrard succumbed to diabetes. Some of his friends and neighbors, including fellow songwriter and Gainesville native Bruce Birch, got together to start the John Jarrard Foundation to help fund some of John's favorite charities. The premiere event for the foundation is the Bruce Burch and Friends Honor John Jarrard Concert.
Red Clay created a site with a
website design fit for a songwriter. It features information on the Foundation's events, a place to donate or buy tickets to the concert, as well as a community for other aspiring songwriters to share their work.
Red Clay is proud to partner with the John Jarrard Foundation, as is excited about attending The 7th Annual Honor John Jarrard Concert on Tuesday, October 7.
