The red tape is cut, and Cong. Nathan Deal's site is live. Finally!

After moving full steam ahead, starting over to meet new handicap standards, and waiting for a temporarily displaced House Information Resources (HIR) office to move back home, we've finally launched Congressman Nathan Deal's new site. As mentioned in some previous "What's Ups," we've been working on this project for quite some time.

Halfway through development, we had to start over to comply with Section 508. Section 508 Compliancy is the new regulation that requires all Federal Government Web sites to be accessible by disabled persons. The list of requirements is pretty strict on images, colors, navigation, HTML code, and just about anything else you'd expect to find on a Web site.

We were then getting close to completion in early September when tragedy struck our Country. As a result of the ensuing Anthrax threats, the HIR offices were shut down and moved to a new location and could not assist us in finalizing the site. But now they're home, they've given us great support, and the site is finally live.

The new site will help Cong. Deal's office by meeting his objectives of (1.) keeping his constituents informed with what's going on in Washington, as well as (2.) providing an educational resource about our Federal government, Georgia's Ninth Congressional District, and Cong. Deal himself. Check it out.
