With the holiday season approaching, many businesses are making sure they are prepared in every way. Are you prepared for the mobile use of your consumers? This is not the first thing most store owners take into consideration. The Pew Internet Project did a study on how customers used their mobile phones while shopping.  They have found that over half of adult cell phone owners used their phone during the 2011 holiday season to seek help with purchasing decisions.

38% of mobile users called a friend while in the store to get advice before making a purchase on an item. 24% mobile users looked up reviews of a product online while they were in the store and 25% mobile users used their phones to look up the price of a product online while in the store to look for a better deal. From this study they have also found that cell phone owners ages 18-49 are more likely to use their phones for online product review than older cell phone users.

With this in mind, be aware of your competitors. Where do your prices stand in comparison to theirs? Also, a product review is great to have on your website. Knowing that 24% of mobile users look at product reviews for decision making gives you power to influence as well as making each customers shopping experience an interactive experience. Happy shopping season!
